Yankee Heritage Tole Chapter Community Service
For many years, YHT (Yankee Heritage Tole Chapter) Community Service efforts have supported two important projects, Treasure Boxes for Visitation House and Veterans and Kelley Backpacks for children entering emergency Foster Care.
Kelley Backpacks is a charity program established by medical students at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA.
This program provides backpacks to children and infants being discharged from the hospital into emergency foster care. Backpacks are gender and age specific and are filled with a blanket, a stuffed animal, pajamas, toiletries, and age appropriate activities. The backpacks give the children something that is theirs to keep and helps them to feel cared for. Thanks goes out to YHT members
who have generously donated backpacks and the items to fill them.

Visitation House is located in Worcester, MA. This residential program helps pregnant women in crisis prepare for the birth of their babies. It also helps them prepare for their life together after their babies are born by providing assistance with housing, education, and employment. Treasure Boxes are donated to the new mothers to be used to save their family photos and special memorabilia.
Painting for Veterans
Painted boxes are being donated to Disabled American Veterans housing programs located in Leominster and Gardner, MA. These transitional and sober-living programs provide housing and services to disabled veterans.
